The interviews will air as part of the brand\u2019s annual three-hour&nbsp;<strong><em>CMT Hot 20 Countdown&nbsp;<\/em>special<\/strong>&nbsp;airing&nbsp;<strong>Saturday, March 8th<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Sunday, March 9th<\/strong>&nbsp;at<strong>9AM ET\/8AM CT<\/strong>. Since its inception, the franchise has expanded to include various digital series and nationwide tours anchored by superstar acts including Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Tanya Tucker and Maddie &amp; Tae. In 2024, Butts released her acclaimed album Roadrunner!. She leaned into her lifelong love of musical theater and dreamed up a modern-day reimagining of the soundtrack to her all-time favorite musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein\u2019s Oklahoma!, which ended up on numerous best-of year-end lists. \u201cWith the last album I wanted to write about the struggles I\u2019d seen people go through or experienced myself, so a lot of the songs had a sadness or darkness to them,\u201d Butts explains. \u201cI feel like Roadrunner! is much closer to what I\u2019m like onstage, where there\u2019s real emotion and truth but also humor and a tendency to poke fun. It\u2019s all those different versions of me at once.\u201d Butts also hit the road hard in 2024, making her Lollapalooza debut, opening for Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne and Flatland Cavalry, and trekking across the U.S. on her first-ever coast-to-coast headline tour. In 2025, the Tulsa-born, Nashville-based Butts is gearing up for another banner year. Butts will join Lainey Wilson on her \u201cWhirlwind\u201d tour this Summer, and will also be featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame\u2019s latest \u201cAmerican Currents\u201d show. In the exhibit, Butts will join artists like Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and others in the museum\u2019s halls in Nashville. Butts has also joined the 2025 Opry Next Stage Class alongside Kashus Culpepper, Tigerlily, Tucker Wetmore, Dasha, Avery Anna and Chayce Beckham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KAT LUNA:&nbsp;<\/strong>Latina country artist Kat Luna, formerly of duo Kat &amp; Alex, is blazing her own path. Over the past year, Luna set out to find herself again, both personally and professionally. This period of growth led the Cuban American country songstress to pen some of her most compelling and honest music yet, kicking off a new chapter as a solo artist. As a child, Luna grew up the daughter of first-generation Cuban immigrants, with her \u201cCuban Cowboy\u201d grandfather introducing her to artists ranging from Toby Keith to Celia Cruz. She began singing in school, eventually appearing on Univision\u2019s La Banda and La Voz, a Telemundo program similar to The Voice. A gifted storyteller and songwriter from an early age, Lanie crafted a distinctive blend of classic rock and country influences that quickly set her apart. Her career skyrocketed after her cover of Fleetwood Mac\u2019s \u201cDreams\u201d went viral, approaching 60 million views. Now, Gardner holds her own with her debut album A Songwriter\u2019s Diary, which was released in October 2024 via BBR Music Group\/BMG Nashville. The 10-track collection, written entirely by Gardner, invited listeners on a deeply personal journey through her roots and creative beginnings.
